Manhasset SEPTA Awards Two Scholarships
The Manhasset Special Education PTA (SEPTA) is proud to announce its two scholarship recipients for 2008-09. The two scholarships facilitated by Manhasset SEPTA are the Shaheeda Walker Scholarship and the Hispanic Community Fund Scholarship, both presented to graduating Manhasset students who will be attending any secondary education, either college or vocational school.
The Shaheeda Walker Scholarship was created to honor Ms. Shaheeda Walker, who is herself an individual with a disability that has earned a Masters degree and is now working in special education in New York . The Hispanic Community Fund is a scholarship to recognize an outstanding individual who persevered to complete high school and continuing their education after graduating.
Michele Weingart from Manhasset SEPTA presented the Shaheeda Walker Scholarship to Bikramjit Singh on Wed, June 4 at the seniors award ceremony presented at the Manhasset High School . Mr. Singh will be attending CW Post to start studying business management this fall.
Vice President of the Hispanic Community Fund of Great Neck Anna Maria Herrera presented the Hispanic Community Fund Scholarship to Alex Snee during the awards ceremony. Mr. Snee will start at Loyola in the autumn to study accounting.
