Free Expert Speakers, Panel Discussion and Workshops

The free expert presentations schedule for the Manhasset Special Education PTA (SEPTA) 2009-10 year has been announced. Topics include special needs financial planning, wholistic support, impacts of allergies, and IEP meetings. The listing of free panel discussions and workshops topics was also announced. These hands-on workshops and panel discussions dovetail with the presentations offered during the month, providing parents, teachers and school staff with specific information in a targeted, interactive venue.
The presentations are free and all are welcomed to attend. In addition, the workshops and panel discussions are also open to the public, especially parents and school staff/teachers.All workshop and panel discussion dates and locations will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Manhasset SEPTA is a local chapter of the National PTA supporting Manhasset’s special education population, including teachers, school staff, children up to 21 years old and their families. Through expert presentation, workshops, community programs and local resources, SEPTA provides support for over 500 Manhasset families and more than 1,000 school staff members. Manhasset SEPTA proudly services the needs of students with disabilities, gifted and talented students, and students receiving academic intervention services.
