Manhasset Parent District Services Survey - reply by June 15^th

Last chance to have your input included in our survey of parents receiving services from the Manhasset school district. (see attached survey form)

AGATE meeting - Monday, June 8^th

Located in the Weber Middle School Library at 8:00 p.m.

We will vote on our slate of officers for next year and review a presentation by AGATE of New York State on the need for gifted education.

The Young Readers’ Book Club - Monday, June 8^th

Meet at the Port Washington Public Library Children’s Room from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.

For children ages 4 through 6 who are able to read independently to discuss The Caterpillar and the Polliwog by Jack Kent.Copies of the book will be held on reserve in the Children's Room prior to the meeting. Our current Young Readers' Book Club is full, but interested readers can add their names to our waiting list by contacting Nomi Barasch at nomieddy@optonline.net.

Curriculum Committee - Friday, June 5th

The will meet in the conference room at the Daly Annex. at 8:45 a.m.

Dr. Nicholas Stirling will give a brief update on the English/Social Studies Honors Program and Marilyn Rodahan will give a brief update on programming for the middle student and plans for a middle school evaluation process.

Other speakers will be Rose Marvel, Director of Creative Arts; Stephanie Joannon, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics; and Jamie Nolan, Administrative Assistant for Data Management.

Manhasset Scholarships Awarded - Thurs, June 4

Manhasset High School’s senior awards presentation located in the MHS auditorium at 7:30pm.

Join SEPTA as we award two scholarships to graduating students who have championed their disability and begin their post-secondary education.

Manhasset SEPTA would like to Say “Thank you” to all our members and Welcome the New Board, Committee Chairpersons and Volunteers

Please join us as SEPTA says “Thank you” to all our 2008/09 Members at the last SEPTA meeting for the school year. SEPTA will also be welcoming the new 2009-10 executive board members, new committee chairpersons, new directors, and all the volunteers for upcoming fundraisers and events. We also welcome all new 2009-10 members that sign up that night!

There will be a drawing for lots of free give-aways including

A Manicure/Pedicure gift certificate

Summer Reading and Fun gift basket

A Mom-n-Daughter Avon basket

A vintage Gucci purse set

A Fendi clutch handbag

‘Get lucky’ scratch-off lottery tickets

And lots more!

Refreshments will be served, and members will be able to network and have an open rap session about the topics and issues that most concern them. The event is open to 2008-09 members only, as well as to any person joining as a member for the upcoming 2009-10 year. (Membership applications will be available at the meeting.)

Last Meeting and Membership Appreciation Event - Wed, June 3

‘Thank you’ event for our membership and anyone signing up to become a member for 2009-10.

There will be a drawing for lots of free give-aways including a mani/pedi certificate, vintage Gucci purse set, summer reading and fun basket, Fendi clutch handbag, and so much more!!

Meet our new executive board and new directors/chairpersons while we have an open rap session about issues members are most concerned about. Refreshments will be served.
