New York Life Foundation Makes $1,000 Grant to SEPTA
Recognizes Local Volunteer and Supports Community-based Nonprofits
Manhasset Special Education PTA (SETPTA) proudly announces that it has been awarded a New York Life Foundation’s Volunteers for Life - Individual Grant in the amount of $1,000 to recognize the volunteer service of Diane Treacy. This grant program encourages and supports the volunteer involvement of New York Life employees, agents and retirees in community-based nonprofit organizations.
“I am proud to be actively involved with Manhasset SEPTA,” SEPTA Corresponding Secretary Diane Treacy stated, who also works at New York Life in Manhattan. “This organization is making a difference in our community and I’m pleased that my company, New York Life, supports my volunteer service,” Treacy added.
“Manhasset SEPTA is delighted to have our board member and our organization recognized by the New York Life Foundation for our programs and resources that support the special needs community,” Grants Director Ann Marie Moschitta said.
Inspired by New York Life’s tradition of service and humanity, the New York Life Foundation has, since its founding in 1979, provided more than $130 million in charitable contributions to national and local nonprofit organizations. Through its focus on “Nurturing the Children,” the Foundation supports programs that benefit young people, particularly in the areas of mentoring, the establishment of safe places to learn and grow, educational enhancement opportunities and childhood bereavement. The Foundation also encourages and facilitates the community involvement of employees, agents, and retirees of New York Life through its Volunteers for Life program. Visit New York Life Foundation’s Web site at www.newyorklifefoundation.org for more information on its programs.
Manhasset SEPTA is a local chapter of the National PTA focusing on the needs of the special education community. SEPTA proudly supports the gifted and talented, children with disabilities, students receiving educational support services, the school staff and special needs families in Manhasset and on the North Shore.
