Manhasset SEPTA Pocket Calendars

You have seen them around town, you have used them all year, and now orders are being accepted for the upcoming school year. Yes, it’s the Manhasset SEPTA pocket school calendar with all the schools’ scheduled performances, SCA meetings and of course, school holidays conveniently sized to have with you at work or on the go as you schedule your family’s week.

Manhasset SEPTA is pleased to announce that orders are now being accepted for the pocket sized version of the official Manhasset School District wall calendar of the 2010-2011 year. The SEPTA pocket calendar, which includes all school contacts and information, is back for its second year. All funds raised through advertisements and sales of the pocket calendar go to support SEPTA’s adaptive sports and special needs programs for our community’s children.

The pocket calendar was very well received by parents, older students, teachers, and school staff alike.

On 2008, over 700 calendars were sold with nearly 1,000 expected to be ordered this year. And with your feedback and suggestions, this year’s calendar will come in a new, larger and easy-to-read format with more space to write in appointments, and a notes sidebar on each month.

On 2008, the funds supported a pilot adaptive sports program in the Fall 08 and Spring 09 SCA Saturday Series. The Skills-n-Drills Bootcamp class is a program that teaches basic sports skills to children in a non-competitive setting. The adaptive program was a huge success last year with sold-out classes filled in both the Fall and Spring sessions.

This year, in addition to the Skills-n-Drills Bootcamp class, there will be more programs for special needs children, including sports clinics and recreational activities like yoga, messy play and music. Manhasset SEPTA is currently welcoming suggestions for upcoming programs. Please email your suggestions to ManhassetSEPTA@aol.com . Pocket calendar order forms can also be obtained by contacting SEPTA by email as well.
